On March 22, Meghan, our Activities Director and her team of superstars hosted a Taco Lunch to raise money for the Alzheimer's Association. For just $5, you could eat as many tacos as you could stuff yourself with. So between 10:30am and 2pm that day, we managed to raise $225.00!
That's a lot of tacos!

While the money will go to the Alzheimer's Association, the grand plan is to partner with our sister center, Summit View of Rocky Top for the Alzheimer's Walk in Oak Ridge on May 20th.
We'll be forming a team, so be sure to check for more details. You can be sure we'll post them here and on Facebook. We'd like to have as many people participate as possible to help us show our support for the cause.

According to the Alzheimer's Association, more than 5 million Americans are currently living with the disease, and it is the 6th leading cause of death in the US.
What's even more surprising, is that more than 15 million Americans provide unpaid care for people with Alzheimer's and other forms of dementia.
This year, it is estimated that Alzheimer's will cost the nation $259 Billion dollars - a number that most people can't even begin to imagine.

This is why is is so important that we get together to help raise money to find a cure for Alzheimer's. It's one of the most devastating illnesses for both the individual and loved ones.
