At Summit View, we're lucky to have quite a few staff members who have been with us for a very long time, so as you can imagine, we like to shine a spotlight on their dedication and hard work.
Lori Greene is the perfect example. As our Director of Social Services, Lori Graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a Bachelor's in Education and a concentration in Human Services. She also has certification as an Activities Director, a working knowledge of sign language, and experience as a case manager.
She's been working with seniors since 2004.
We asked her why she chose to work with the senior population as opposed to other populations. Her answer:
"I love my Granny Lou and my late Granny Faye so much. I want to make a difference in the lives of others, especially if they are unable to help themselves."
Lori joined the Summit View team in 2008, and says that she really enjoys the family-like environment, her co-workers, and the leadership. When asked what makes Summit View different from other facilities, she said,
"Summit View offers three levels of care, and the vent/trach unit is something you just don't find around here. You have to travel pretty far outside Knoxville to find another vent unit."
As a social worker, Lori has helped patients with a wide range of health issues and says that she would love to see more services become available in the community to assist individuals with the transition from home to other levels of care.
When she's not working, Lori enjoys spending time with her two children: June who is 13 and Cooper who is eight.
She enjoys camping, swimming, watching movies, taking her children to their extra curricular activities, and spending time with her family.
